Modeling Benefits of Viral Sensitizers to Increase Virus Production

Virica’s proprietary small molecule Viral Sensitizers (VSE™) improve virus manufacturing productivity by transiently reducing innate cellular defenses within production cell lines. These innate cellular responses limit viral yield, making them a significant yet underappreciated manufacturing barrier. Using bioprocess modeling, the poster demonstrates that even modest increases in viral yield with VSE™ can significantly reduce manufacturing costs per dose, thereby enhancing vaccine affordability and accessibility. The efficacy of VSE™ was validated through experiments across various cell lines and viral constructs, including influenza, measles, and yellow fever, consistently resulting in multi-fold increases in viral titer.
